Martin Castillo

Director of LATINAMERICAN ART LLC

​

Art dealer and art advisor, founder and director of LATINAMERICAN ART LLC since its creation in 2007. For over thirty-five years, he has worked with clients worldwide, contributing to the development of modern and contemporary art collections for museums, foundations, and private collectors, especially in the Latin American market, of which he has a deep knowledge.

​

He specializes in modern Latin American masters and contemporary masters, being an expert in Joaquín Torres García, Pedro Figari, Antonio Berni, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Rafael Barradas, José Gurvich, Pablo Atchugarry, and Julio Le Parc.

​

He studied art history and anthropology at the Universidad de la República School of Humanities and Science (Montevideo) and became a technician in communication sciences at the Universidad Católica School of Humanities (Montevideo).

​

He has worked as an associate curator at the São Paulo Biennial and at the Mercosur Biennial.

​

Furthermore, he has participated in multiple exhibition projects at, among others, the following fairs: Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, ARCO, SP‑Arte, arteBA, TEFAF, TEFAF New York, ArtRio, ESTE ARTE, Zona Maco.

​

Several exhibitions have had him as a collaborator, thus he has worked frequently with museums such as: Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales (MNAV), Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), Museo de Arte Lationamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA), Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP), Dallas Museum of Art (DMA), Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna, and Museu Picasso de Barcelona.
